2023 R8: HVRC v Hills

Yesterday's games saw a vast improvement by the boys, with two wins and two closely contested loses.  3rd Grade went down 0 - 36, but the score was a poor reflection of the game.  Valley struggled for cohesion in the first 1/2 with a number of new players, but put in a much better showing in the 2nd.  Colts had an outstanding win 22 - 14, dominating in the forwards. 

2nd Grade beaten 0 - 22, but had most of the ball in the 1st half, and were unable to convert the possession into points.  A much better scum helped.  A number of strange and inconsistent referee calls during the game rattled the boys, but they never gave up and were unlucky to to score a number of times. 

1st Grade finally clicked and won a close contest 31 - 17.  There were patches of excellent rugby by the boys and the scrum dominated towards the end of the match. 

Next weeks "King's Birthday" long weekend sees a bye, to be followed by Briars at home on the 17th June.
