Valley came up against Briars, who had completed a clean sweep of games in the first round, but the much improved performance saw Valley win 3 of the 4 matches on the day.
3rd grade started promisingly, but went down 21 -36, after a close first half. They fell away in the last 10 minutes and were unfortunate not to get a win.
Colts played particularly well, winning 26 - 0. 2nd grade ran out winners 25 - 14 in a tough affair.
Finally 1st grade were able to put together two wins in a row, winning by 2 points, 27 - 25. In a spiteful contest, the boys held their nerve and should be very pleased with their effort.
Next weeks games against Lindfield at home should be a real test.
